Traditional Tier:
has rounded edges and the entire width is gathered across the top.
This is the most common shape. It works well as a blusher
and it falls behind your face when worn back.

|
Waterfall:
forms gentle waves that flow down the sides
(an edge other than cut edge will have more definition).
Before it’s gathered it looks like a large triangle with the point
rounded out, so 108" width is advised as it tapers to the bottom
edge. If used at cathedral length be aware that the train end will be
very narrow, almost a point, while traditional shape will form a large
circular train. |

|
Oval: is like
the traditional tier, but only part of the width is gathered across
the fold on top. At least 18" remains un-gathered on each side. This
only works for 2 tiers. A longer 3rd tier could be made separate. It
works smoothly as a blusher. When worn back the sides will fall
closer to your face than the traditional tier. |

|
Heart: 3 separate
sections are gathered together to create a multi-tiered veil without
as much fullness. An edging is necessary for this shape, as a cut edge
would lose definition and have a torn look. This has 3 sections, not
tiers and would not work as a blusher |
 |
Mantilla: this shape is not gathered at all. It is a large circle
or oval of illusion (or chiffon) often edged with lace. This shape is
listed separate from the tier listings to allow specific options.
The Mantilla is of traditional Spanish
origin. |
